Walk the Mandovi Waterfront

Walk the Mandovi waterfront the way its casino history unfolded — build a route around the time you actually have.

Build your route

A promenade with layers

The stretch of riverfront running along the Mandovi in Panaji is one of the most walked, most photographed, and most historically layered promenades in Goa. Portuguese-era administrative buildings sit a few hundred metres from a modern garden square; ferry crossings that once linked the old capital to its northern bank still run today; and, from the late 1990s onward, the river itself became a mooring point for a cluster of large vessels offering casino gaming, a chapter of the city's story that reshaped how people used the waterfront after dark.

HistoricJackpot is a self-guided walking resource built around that layered history. We are not a casino operator, a booking platform, or a tour company — we are an independent travel and history guide that helps you plan a walk along the promenade, understand what you are looking at, and decide how much time to spend doing it.
